Rev. Norma Williams is the daughter of the late Clarence and Ivy Raynor of Mount Prospect District, Manchester, Jamaica. She is married to Rollin Williams and they have three children – Cheryl, Donnette and Kimberly. Rev. Williams is the middle child of five children, with two older sisters and two younger brothers. Her family is extremely supportive of her call to ministry.
After migrating to the United States, she attended Brooklyn College from where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in English, and a Masters of Arts in Secondary English Education. Rev. Williams further equipped herself for Christian ministry by attending New York Theological Seminary. She first graduated with a Masters of Professional Studies and later with a Masters of
Divinity in Parish Ministry and Christian Education. Rev. Williams is a certified New York City Department of Education teacher with over twenty years of experience.
In 2004, the Lenox Road Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kirkpatrick Cohall licensed Rev. Williams to Christian Ministry. Rev. Williams has served the church in various capacities for over twenty years- Sunday School Superintendent, director of Vacation Bible School, facilitator of New Members Discipleship Class, chairperson of the Black History Committee and a member of the Advisory Board. She is also a teacher at the Lenox Bible Institute.
Rev. Williams’ desire is to do what God would have her do during this season of her life. As one who is called by God, Rev. Williams looks to God for where and how He would have her be His hand extended.
The Rev. Dr. Kirkpatrick Cohall currently serves as Senior Pastor for the Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York for the past 22 years. Prior to his pastoral service, Dr. Cohall, for over 11 years, worked as a Medical Technologist at the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Research Hospital in New York City. He prayerfully made bold and courageous change in his career path to fulfill a call to pastoral ministry.
Rev. Cohall is a graduate of New York Theological Seminary, with a Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry and aDoctor of Philosophy from Fordham University Graduate School of Education. He served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University, and as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean at New
York Theological Seminary, where he also taught in the Sing Sing Correctional Facility (Master’s Degree program). Rev. Cohall serves as the chairman for the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and has served on several others including Anchor House and American Baptist Churches USA. He is a past president of the Board of International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches overseeing missionaries serving in all six continents.
Rev. Cohall has exhibited visionary leadership while serving in the community which reflects the rich diversity in Brooklyn, NY. And other parts of the world. During the twenty two years of his leadership, he led the project to rebuild a ($6M) six million dollar worship facility, which includes an educational and recreational complex. This facility offers computer training, summer day camp, a Bible Institute, basketball, and other recreational activities geared to keep at risk youth off the streets. The church has developed several out-reach programs such as health fairs, and marriage and family counseling, geared to the holistic empowerment of the family. Dr. Cohall continues to work closely with community leaders, the police department and the health facilities in addressing issues such as teenage pregnancies, youth gang activities and a host of health related issues facing the community.
Rev. Cohall’s area of specialty is in the field of Educational Leadership, Administration and Policy. As a pastor he continues to explore emerging methodologies in addressing the many social pathologies in urban America and the role of the church in addressing these issues.
Rev. Cohall and his wife, First Lady Sophia are the proud parents of two children, Shannon and Kirk.
Min. Sophia Cohall, First Lady of LRBC, is a woman of God, who has a heart for people. She is embraced by many as a mentor, spiritual advisor, and most importantly, servant of Jesus Christ. She believes in the power of prayer and has served the Lord in ministry for over 30 years. First Lady Cohall plays a vital role alongside her husband, providing guidance in many areas of the ministry. Her keen insight into organizational management has enabled her to play an invaluable role in enhancing and supporting the corporate accountability of the church while maintaining its biblical mission.
She is a product of the New York City Public School system, and a graduate of Hunter College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics/Accounting. She is also a graduate of Fordham University, where she earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a concentration in Management Systems. She is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Church Leadership, Administration, and Policy at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education. She is a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, and Alpha Sigma Nu.
She previously worked at Marsh & McLennan Co., for 17 years in several capacities, including Vice President of Finance, Financial Analyst, and Senior Accountant. In April 2005, First Lady Cohall left her very demanding corporate career to dedicate herself to her family and to ministry.
First Lady Cohall became licensed to Christian ministry at The Lenox Road Baptist Church in June 2012. She currently serves as Director of Women’s Ministry, Lenox Road Bible Institute Instructor, and Director of The Lenox Study Hall, (an after-school and homework help program) which she started several years ago, to provide a safe place for children in grades 1 through 10. There are a host of other positions that she has held at Lenox Road Baptist Church over the years. The principles she has gleaned from the study of God’s Word, her academic studies, and her many years of experience in church leadership and administration continue to positively impact others with whom she shares work and ministry.
Pastor and First Lady Cohall are the proud parents of two adult children, Shannon and Kirk.
Rev. Dr Sharon Downer currently serves as the Associate Pastor of the Lenox Road Baptist Church. She oversees the following ministries; Music, Singles, Small Group and Mentoring. She frequents as an itinerant preacher, a pulpit supply minister for the American Baptist Churches, Metro New York and as a Chaplain Resident for the New York Harbor Veterans Affairs.
A dynamic and profound communicator of the preached Word, Dr. Downer’srelevant and calculated delivery of the gospel message has made her a much sought after speaker and facilitator at churches, retreats and conferences addressing issues particularly related to “Women, Youth and Singles.”
Dr. Downer attended Long Island University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marketing. After accepting the call to ministry, she graduated from the New York Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree and later the Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary) in Wynnewood Pennsylvania, with a Doctorate in Ministry degree in the “Renewal of the Church for Missions.”
As a woman who possesses a unique array of gifts, Dr. Downer has been the recipient of several awards and public citations for inspiring leadership and faithful service to the spiritual needs of her community. Above all, her ultimate desire is to be in absolute surrender to God’s perfect will for her life, hence fulfilling her purpose in the Kingdom of God.
Minister Adam Pryce is licensed minister of Pastoral Care at the Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn NY since 2009. Mr. Pryce is a graduate of New York Theological Seminary where he obtained a Master of Divinity Degree (M.DIV). Since graduation, he pursued courses and completed his clinical pastoral education and worked as chaplain in Long Island Jewish Hospital System. He is the ministry leader of the Bereavement Ministry at the Lenox Road Baptist for the past two years.
Mr. Pryce holds a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of the West Indies, Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA Leve2, master accounting (UK), and a diploma in Secondary education from Church Teachers’ College. He taught mathematics, Science, and accounting in the secondary school system in Jamaica for seven years.
Mr. Adam Pryce is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Accountant (CGMA). He is the principal of the Public Accounting Firm: Pryce Accounting & Tax Services CPA PLLC.
Minister Adam Pryce was married for 37 years to Jocklyn Pryce (now deceased) and they are the proud parents of three adult children: Bertram, Kurt, and Karin and grandparents of four: Brandon, Emily, Nia, and Kaitlyn.
Rev. Dr. Tamara Henry serves as the minister to youth at the Lenox Road Baptist Church. The heart of her ministerial passion is rooted in nurturing the faith identities of young people from all walks of life, empowering them to become radical agents of change in the communities and world in which they live.
In addition to her ministry in the local church, Dr. Henry assumes a number of other roles, including those of professor and researcher. Currently, she serves as assistant professor of religious education at New York Theological Seminary, where she also directs the Master of Arts in Religious Education and the Master of Arts in Youth Ministry programs.
Beyond her service in ministerial and academic contexts, Dr. Henry’s professional background includes extensive work on behalf of marginalized youth and families within a variety of settings.
Dr. Henry is a graduate of Georgetown University where she received a BA in American government. In addition, she holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University School of Social Service and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Fordham University School of Religion. She also earned her PhD in religious education from Fordham University, School of Religion. She was ordained on November 18, 2018.
Min. Carlyle Johnson – a gifted musician and vocalist, has been actively involved in the music ministry of LRBC and has also served several other churches as worship leader/ musician. Most recently, he became the Minister of Music with direct responsibilities for the music program of the church. He has organized/formed several music groups, choirs and choral groups within the church.
A born-again believer in Jesus Christ, Minister Johnson is a worshipper whose humble spirit, gentle personality and anointing have given him favor in ushering hundreds into the presence of the Lord through worship.
He is married to Theresa and they have two adorable sons – Josiah and Jared.
Minister Orville Francis has served in several capacities while residing in Jamaica. Since arriving in New York, he has continued his ministry at Lenox Road Baptist Church. Minister Francis served on the Deacon’s Board for three consecutive terms where he held several leadership roles – Chairperson and Vice Chair.
Minister Francis graduated from the Lenox Bible Institute. Besides bringing the Word at LRBC, he frequently preaches at the Good Hope Baptist Church. Minister Francis’ passion is to help people, especially young adults come to know Jesus Christ.
He is married to Emily and they have three adult children – Tricia, Tamara and Paul.
Barrington Foster, is a devout Christian man who after making a recommitment to the Lord and becoming an active member of the Lenox Road Baptist Church in 2000, found a new love for Jesus Christ. Since then, he has humbly and faithfully served the Lord, church, and community.
Rev. Foster loves to teach and share the Gospel message in a relevant way, which positively impacts people’s lives. With that in mind, he currently serves as a visiting minister at the East Tremont Baptist Church in the Bronx, presides as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and serves as the Director of the Marriage Ministry at Lenox Road Baptist Church. Barrington is also an active committee member in the Men’s ministry, Small Group ministry, Pastoral planning committee, and Community Outreach Ministry committee. He also served as a mentor for many years in the Mentoring Ministry. Barrington is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Baptist Churches USA Metro NY.
Outside of ministry, Barrington Foster has worked in the field of Information Technology for over 20 years. He is currently employed at Idemia, a biometrics company, as an Operations Site Manager where he continues to teach and train others while managing and supporting the day-to-day operations. He is a proud graduate of Nyack College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management and New York Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree.
