“southern BOYS” explores the late 19th century Mississippi Delta, focusing on first-generation, born-free Black Americans. Through narrative scenes and blues songs, it tell the coming-of-age story of Johnny, a sharecropper dreaming of moving north to Chicago for a better life beyond the southern fields.
